Being brought up in France by an English parent and Dutch parent means that I have always been fascinated by how we communicate with each other.
I began my PR career working from the Firefly Paris office where I was able to flex my language skills by working on a mix of local, European and global clients.
I relocated to London after three years in France’s capital; taking on several clients with pan-European remits. I support the team in Paris on occasional projects and find that there’s a lot to be learnt by comparing ways of working – so long as you stay true to the region’s culture.
In the decade that I’ve been practising PR, I’ve seen huge changes in how we communicate and the end consumer is central to that, even in the business-to-business world. Social media has been pivotal to the shift; meaning there is more transparency and a greater need for brands to be genuine.
I’ve worked on an extremely broad range of clients from a social network for pets to a charity that helps old people and even IT outsourcing; all of which we ran sincere but fun campaigns.
“Authenticity with a good dose of creativity” is my PR mantra.
