Despite an initial wrong turn – starting my PR career emptying spittoons at a Champagne Tasting Event in Whitehall – I’ve spent most of my working life in technology PR and communications.
I’ve worked with all sizes of business across the UK, US and EMEA, from start-ups still in incubation to industry giants including Oracle, Motorola, BMC Software, Orange and Rackspace.
I’ve been privileged to work with a number of visionary companies and come into contact with figures including Linus Torvalds (creator of the Linux kernel) and Stephen Sasson (inventor of the digital camera). I launched an open source cloud platform in conjunction with NASA and won two awards for a campaign probing Wi-Fi filtering in public places, working with a professor of social responsibility for IT.
Despite working in PR at a time of immense change, many things have stayed constant, including the importance of a well thought-out strategy coupled with a dedicated, tenacious and inventive work ethic.
I like good coffee, running, books, bad puns, writing, gaming and whisky (but not all at once).
