Tony BrownTony Brown, ex journalist and seasoned PR industry pro, joins pan-European PR agency Firefly Communications in September 2015 in a new role as Head of Content.

With ever increasing demands for content generation and content marketing, Tony brings his 10+ years’ of journalism experience together with his 10+ years’ of PR agency experience to support Firefly’s client base by producing content strategies and initiatives in all forms.

With creation, publication, posting and governance of useful, useable content in mind, Tony’s role will be to ensure all written content is on brand, consistent in terms of messaging, style, quality and tone of voice to suit each client. He will also ensure that all content has excellent readability for all channels including online, social media, email marketing, video, print and in-person communications.

Claire Walker, Firefly CEO said “Tony is a strategic hire for Firefly, further emphasising our commitment to PR in high definition. With the multitude of communications channels to choose from, every planned piece of content needs an independent, dispassionate, optimised sanity check before distribution, and a distribution strategy to maximise the impact. To optimise is not enough, you need to ensure you are maximising the impact for your clients. Tony’s cross-agency role does exactly that.”

Tony and each client team will map out content strategies for each client, drawing and developing the larger story that they want to tell. Working alongside client teams, Tony will ensure that all pieces of content are optimised, integrated, repurposed and engaging so the content drives change and/or profitable behaviours.

Over the past 5 years, Tony has carried out senior freelance assignments for Edelman, Hill & Knowlton, Babel, 3 Monkeys and Atomic. Prior to that he was a client director and on the management team at Nelson Bostock, 3 Monkeys and Kinross + Render for 6 years. In addition, Tony has a 10+ years’ experience as a qualified journalist, and his editorial career included being the City and Business Correspondent at the Press Association.
