Firefly is to handle the launch of The Online Surgery in association with Dr Christian Jessen, star of Channel 4’s ‘Supersize vs Superskinny’ and the BAFTA-winning ‘Embarrassing Bodies’.
Firefly’s brief is to raise awareness later this month amongst patients seeking specific advice and treatment for a variety of conditions such as hair loss, weight loss, malaria and sexually transmitted infections. Part of the brief also covers media relations to balance recent negative news about online healthcare including counterfeit medication and unlicensed practitioners.
“Too many websites exist that sell fake medicines. We aim to change that. My team and I can guarantee that you are receiving genuine medications prescribed by registered General Medical Council doctors. Our affiliate pharmacy is registered with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain and only uses genuine UK brands,” explains Dr Christian.
Toby Schuster, associate director at Firefly, will lead the account. “Not a day passes without news about dubious online healthcare. Dr Christian is setting a new benchmark for trustworthy, responsible and convenient healthcare on the web, and we’ll be using a blend of traditional and social media channels to reach out to consumer audiences.”
