Tool of the Month – WhatTheFont

On average, we consume around 12 hours 7 minutes of media every single day and most of the time it will be in the form of imagery or video. Every now and then we’ll come across a creative piece that will inspire us to recreate as our own. The problem is, half the time we can never find the bits that we like, whether it’s the image that’s used or maybe the name of the colour or the font style.

Well, you might have to keep on scrolling through Google search result pages to find the images, but I have just found the perfect solution for your font problems.

WhatTheFont is a tool that helps solve your font-searching woes. All you need to do is upload the image of the leaflet, book cover, blog page or whatever and then WhatTheFont will give you the name of the font by matching it as closely as possible to its database.

The tool is also available as an app, meaning you can find fonts whilst you’re on the move – no more frantic Google searching when you see a cool font on a tube advert!
