The automotive industry has been fuelled (pardon the pun) by innovation since it began. Technology has played its part in enhancing the driving experience and improving passenger safety. There has also been huge progress in creating vehicles that are more environmentally friendly.

Regularly in the headlines we read about investment and advancement of autonomous cars, with many cars, busses, vans and lorries already featuring advanced driver-assistance systems. Then there’s virtual assistants like Alexa appearing in your car, and the data of how you drive influencing insurance policies or how companies manage their fleets. And that’s just a few examples of tech at work in moving vehicles – there is also so many examples of innovative techniques in automotive manufacturing and supply chain.

At Firefly, we’ve worked with telematics provider Masternaut, AV simulation firm Ansys and 3D printer manufacturer Ultimaker, which sported Volvo as a close partner.
